What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are compounds in the cannabis sativa plant.
Currently, more than 85 cannabinoids exist. Medical documents suggest that these cannabinoids contain several therapeutic properties.
Of the various cannabinoids, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the most common and well known. It’s responsible for causing the psychoactive effect that you experience when you ingest high levels of THC. The second most common cannabinoid is cannabidiol (CBD).
How do cannabinoids work in your body?
Cannabinoids work in your body by interacting with your endocannabinoid system.
When you ingest cannabinoids, the compounds communicate, bind, and affect your endogenous receptor cells to help you achieve homeostasis.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a cell-signaling system in your body.
Researchers from St. Louis University discovered the ECS in the early 1990s while exploring THC.
While more research needs to happen, studies suggest that your ECS regulates a variety of functions, including memory, appetite, sleep, mood, reproduction, and fertility.
In your endocannabinoid system, three key components help it exist: endocannabinoids, receptors, and enzymes.
Endocannabinoids are molecules that your body produces. They’re similar to cannabinoids. And so far, there are two main endocannabinoids: anandamide and 2-Arachidonoylglycerol.
Endocannabinoid receptors also live throughout your entire body. Endocannabinoids bind to these receptors to alert your ECS to take action. Researchers have identified two main types of receptors: CB1 and CB2 receptors.
Enzymes are molecules that break down endocannabinoids once the endocannabinoids have completed their function. There are two types of enzymes responsible for this duty: fatty acid amide hydrolase and monoacylglycerol acid lipase.
What is full spectrum CBD oil?
A full spectrum CBD oil contains everything from the hemp plant, including its terpenes, flavonoids, cannabinoids, and a wide range of other nutrients.
Simply put, this term means “the whole plant.” All of the different phytonutrients in hemp are in full spectrum CBD oil.
How does full spectrum organic CBD sublingual work?
These therapeutic oils work by enabling all of the cannabinoids and nutrients in hemp to work together to amplify their therapeutic effect.
This synergistic action in your body leads to the entourage effect.
What is the entourage effect?
The entourage effect happens when all of the compounds in the hemp plant work together to produce a synergistic effect in your body.
When cannabinoids work together, they provide a more potent effect and cover more ground in your body.
What is the difference between full spectrum CBD oil and broad spectrum CBD oil?
Unlike a full spectrum CBD oil, which uses the whole hemp plant, broad spectrum oil does not include THC.
However, broad spectrum oil still provides the entourage effect because many cannabinoids and nutrients are working together.
What is the difference between full spectrum CBD oil and CBD isolate?
Isolate CBD oil only includes one cannabinoid: CBD.
While it does provide a therapeutic effect, it does not lead to the entourage effect like full spectrum CBD oil and broad spectrum oil.
