Animal welfare and animal rescue volunteers give endless time, money, and love to help animals in need throughout their communities. We want to help them extend their compassion to all animals and encourage incorporating veganism into their lives and their work.
We will provide guidance, support, and micro food grants to local humane organizations and similar groups in the community to work toward incorporating a vegan policy in respect of all animals by omitting animals at food at events, fundraisers, promotions, and benefit show.
A Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification provides independent verification and certification that the basic manufacturing practices and prerequisites necessary for the implementation of an effective Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety program are being followed.
Leaders at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) are reviewing this draft to determine potential impact on Tennessee’s hemp program. No immediate changes are expected. Licensed hemp growers in Tennessee will continue to operate under current state regulations at this time.
As of Nov. 1, we have 3,800 producers licensed to grow as much as 51,000 acres of hemp statewide.
TDA looks forward to continue working with farmers and industry partners to support the production of hemp in Tennessee.
By 1996, ‘cruelty-free’ shopping had become popular, but it was also confusing, sometimes misleading, and ultimately frustrating. Companies had begun designing their own bunny logos, abiding by their own definition of ‘cruelty-free’ or ‘animal friendly’ without the participation of animal protection groups.
In response, eight national animal protection groups banded together to form the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). The CCIC promotes a single comprehensive standard and an internationally recognized Leaping Bunny Logo. We work with companies to help make shopping for animal-friendly products easier and more trustworthy.
