This Wednesday, a winner will be crowned on Big Brother. Find out which houseguests will battle it out during part three of the final HOH competition.
Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Big Brother season 23 finale!
Before a new Big Brother winner can be crowned this week, the players must compete in the final Head of Household competition. Although there are three houseguests left in the game – Derek "Big D" Frazier, Xavier Prather, and Azah Awasum – only two will be eligible to play in the final round of the competition.
Last week, Xavier and Derek worked together to get out Kyland Young, who was seen as a big threat in the game. Kyland was completely blindsided by Derek's decision to evict him over Azah. This caused Kyland to blow up on Xavier. This altercation quickly intensified as Kyland made it personal by referencing Xavier's nephew. Viewers feared the argument would turn physical as the two players inched closer and closer towards each other. Kyland was eventually advised to leave the house immediately by longtime host Julie Chen Moonves. Had she not stepped in, this altercation could have had a drastically different outcome.
Following Kyland's stressful eviction, Xavier, Derek, and Azah competed in the first part of the final Head of Household competition. This competition is split into three parts. All three houseguests competed in the first competition, while only two competed in the second. Then, the two winners will compete in the final round during the live, two-hour finale on Wednesday night. The winner of this will determine who they want to sit next to in the final two. As viewers already know, Xavier won the first part of the three-part HOH competition, as shown during the Sunday, September 26 episode of the show. The remaining two parts will be seen during the finale, with the third part playing out live.
Although the second part will not be seen until Wednesday, live-feed viewers know the competition has already taken place. Derek and Azah competed against each other in what is assumed to have been a memory-focused competition. Even though the live feeds do not show the competitions taking place, fans have been able to learn the winner based on conversations following the competition. For the second part of the HOH competition, Azah beat Derek. This means she will be competing against Xavier in the final part of the competition live on Wednesday night. Since Xavier has a better game resume, many fans, including Big Brother legend Evel Dick Donato, are rooting for him to win.
After Azah and Xavier battle it out one last time during the live finale, the winner will have just a few short moments to decide who they want to sit next to in the final two. This is a make-or-break decision, which can ultimately cost them $750K if they choose the wrong person. Then, the jury members will cast their vote to determine who will win season 23 of Big Brother.
