The Undertaker's 5 Longest Title Reigns (& His 5 Shortest)

The Undertaker has set the pro-wrestling fraternity ablaze after he seemingly announced his retirement on the final chapter of The Last Ride. The Deadman has been in the pro-wrestling business for over 33 years, and a potential retirement could leave an everlasting impact on the hearts of his fans.

Undertaker mentioned that he doesn't have anything left to accomplish and has no desire to step back into the ring again. That's a valid statement as the Undertaker is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history.

Undertaker has won numerous championships throughout his tenure with the company, and with that said, let's take a look at five of his longest and shortest title reigns in WWE.

10 Shortest - World Tag Team Champion - 13 Days ( September 1999)

The Undertaker and The Big Show were Tag Team Champions in WWE on two occasions in 1999. WWE named them the Unholy Alliance, which saw the Deadman use the giant to follow his orders.

Their second reign with the titles happens to be the Undertaker's fifth shortest title reign in his career, lasting just 13 days. The Unholy Alliance defeated the Rock "n" Sock Connection on the September 7, 1999, taping of SmackDown and dropped it back to them on the September 20, 1999, episode of Raw.

9 Longest - WCW World Tag Team Champion - 49 Days (August to September 2001)

The Undertaker's fifth-longest title reign happened to be with Kane as the WCW Tag Team Champions. The Brothers of Destruction won the titles from Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire on the August 13, 2001, episode of Raw as part of the Invasion storyline.

The brothers even became double champions during the reign when they defeated Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon to win the WWE World Tag Team Championships at the 2001 SummerSlam PPV. They held the WCW Tag Team Titles for 49 days before dropping them to Booker T and Test on the September 25, 2001, taping of SmackDown.

8 Shortest - World Tag Team Champion - 12 Days ( April 2001)

The Undertaker and Kane were a full-fledged team during the Invasion storyline and became three-time tag team champions during this period. However, one of their reigns ended up as The Undertaker's fourth shortest title run in his career.

The Brothers of Destruction became tag team champions for the first time on the April 17, 2001, taping of SmackDown by defeating Edge and Christian in a No-Disqualification match. However, their reign ended just 12 days later after they dropped them to Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H at the 2001 Backlash PPV.

7 Longest - Hardcore Champion - 58 Days ( December 2001 to February 2002)

The Undertaker is one of the more surprising superstars to have held the Hardcore Championship. His reign with the title ended up as one of the Deadman's longest title in his career. He won the title from Rob Van Dam in a hard-fought one-on-one match at the 2001 Vengeance PPV.

After Maven eliminated the Undertaker from the 2002 Royal Rumble match, The Rock started to make fun of the Deadman. It led to a Hardcore title match between Maven and the Undertaker on the February 7, 2002, episode of SmackDown.

Maven once again shocked the world by defeating The Undertaker to win the Hardcore title, but this time, he did it with a little help from The Rock and ended the Deadman's reign at 58 days.

6 Shortest - World Tag Team Champion - 8 Days ( August 1999)

The Undertaker didn't enjoy much success with the Tag Team Championships as most of his title reigns ended within a few days. He won the titles with the Big Show for the first time on the 1999 SummerSlam PPV by defeating X-Pac and Kane.

However, the reign didn't last long as the Undertaker and Big Show lost the titles to the Rock "n" Sock Connection on the August 30, 1999, episode of Raw. The reign ended in just eight days, making it the Undertaker's third shortest title runs in his career.

5 Longest - Undisputed WWE Champion - 63 Days ( May to July 2002)

The Undertaker won the Undisputed Championship from Hulk Hogan in a hard-fought match on the 2002 Judgment Day PPV. He proved to be a fighting champion after defending the titles against the likes of Rob Van Dam, Randy Orton, Triple H, Jeff Hardy, and Kurt Angle.

Undertaker's final title defense was against Kurt Angle and The Rock in a triple-threat match on the 2002 Vengeance PPV. The Deadman lost the title to The Rock at the event, ending his reign at 63 days, and it also happened to be his last reign with the WWE Championship.

4 Shortest - WWE Champion - 6 Days ( 27 November to 3 December 1991)

The Undertaker won his first WWE Championship from Hulk Hogan on the 1991 Survivor Series PPV. He had some help from Ric Flair to beat Hogan, which made him the youngest WWE Champion at the time.

However, because of the controversial ending to the match, WWE President Jack Tunney ordered a rematch between The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan six days later at the This Tuesday in Texas PPV.

Hogan overcame Ric Flair’s interference and defeated The Undertaker by throwing ash in his eyes from Paul Bearer’s urn, reclaiming the WWE Championship in the process.

3 Longest - WWE Champion - 133 Days ( March to August 1997)

The Undertaker had to wait six more years until he could get his hands on the WWE Championship once again. This time he did in a place he couldn't lose as he took on Sycho Sid for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 13.

Undertaker won his second WWE Championship at the event and also extended his WrestleMania undefeated streak to 6-0. He held the title for an impressive 133 days before dropping it to Bret Hart at the 1997 SummerSlam PPV in a hard-fought match, which also had Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee.

2 Shortest - World Tag Team Champion - 1 Day ( December 2000)

The Undertaker formed an unlikely alliance with The Rock at the end of 2000 to win the World Tag Team Championships. After The Deadman was unsuccessful in capturing the WWE Championship in the six-man Hell in a Cell match at the Armageddon PPV, he teamed up with The Rock on the December 18, 2000, episode of Raw to defeat Edge and Christian for the Tag Team Championships.

However, it ended up becoming the shortest title reign in the Undertaker's career, as the team lost the titles back to Edge and Christian the very next day on SmackDown.

1 Longest - World Heavyweight Champion - 140 Days ( October 2009 to February 2010)

The Undertaker has won the World Heavyweight Championship three times in his career. While his first two reigns ended in a span of 37 and 30 days, respectively, he made sure he held on to the title a little longer on his third and final reign.

Undertaker won the title from CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell match at the titular event in 2009 and held the title for an impressive 140 days. His reign came to an end at the 2010 Elimination Chamber PPV when Chris Jericho won the title after Shawn Michaels attacked the Undertaker inside the chamber.
