NXT 2.0 August 30, 2022 Recap And Results

This week's NXT 2.0 was the final edition of the show before Worlds Collide, so naturally allmost the entire show was built around it. More matches for Sunday's event needed to be made, and the build to those already on the card needed to be finalized. That resulted in a number of main roster stars paying NXT a visit this week, backing their respective horses ahead of Sunday.

Finn Balor, Butch, And More Return To NXT

The first was Finn Balor, someone very familiar with NXT. Balor warned Bron Breakker not to underprepare for Tyler Bate even though he's a smaller competitor. Ciampa also returned to NXT to light a fire under Breakker ahead of Worlds Collide. Bate had a supporter of his own as Butch, who appears to be slowly morphing back into Pete Dunne, stopped by to show his support for his former tag partner.

The women competing for both titles at Worlds Collide also had main roster stars stop by. Rhea Ripley and Shayna Baszler. However, Nikki ASH and Doudrop went a step further, challenging Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to a Tag Title match this Sunday. Chance and Carter had just picked up a win over Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile, all while Toxic Attraction watched on.

Diamond Mine Continues To Crumble

Nile's mind was likely elsewhere as Diamond Mine continues to look like it might implode. Three of its other four members competed in Tuesday's main event, losing to Gallus. That was partly thanks to Roderick Strong distracting Damon Kemp, but also because Pretty Deadly and Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs got involved too. Pretty Deadly had teamed with Lash Legend earlier on the show to beat Briggs, Jensen, and Fallon Henley.

Elsewhere on NXT this week, William Regal's son Charlie Dempsey competed in his very first match in NXT 2.0, and Grayson Waller picked up a big but slightly tainted win over Apollo Crews to open the show. All of the results from this week's NXT 2.0 can be found below.
