Naomi Front Row For Athena's ROH Women's Title Match At Supercard Of Honor

Ring of Honor's biggest show of the year took place on Friday night. Supercard of Honor played host to a number of terrific matches, including a Reach for the Sky ladder match during which The Lucha Bros were crowned the new Tag Team Champions. The first time the titles have been on the line since former champion Jay Briscoe tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this year.
Naomi At Supercard Of Honor
The ROH Women's Title did not change hands at Supercard of Honor. Athena, formerly WWE's Ember Moon, won the Women's Championship from Mercedes Martinez at Final Battle back in December. Successfully defending it on a number of occasions since then, Athena ensured her reign continued by beating Yuka Sakazaki on Friday night.

Many of us were watching Athena's match closely, but one person, in particular, may have been watching closer than anyone else. That someone is former WWE Superstar Naomi who will now presumably go by Trinity after confirming her WWE contract has expired. Trinity was spotted in the front row during Athena's match, potentially hinting she will be her next challenger.
Backstage And Front Row
It was reported by Fightful Select that Trinity was backstage at Supercard of Honor which got the rumor mill churning, and it was then sent into overdrive when she was spotted in the crowd. While she might not have had the cameras pointed directly at her NXT TakeOver-style, (the cameras actually appeared to make sure Trinity wasn't shown), it certainly seems like her presence at ROH was her testing the waters at the very least.
ROH would be an interesting move for Trinity. It's probably difficult for fans to imagine her wrestling anywhere else and under a different name since she has been a WWE Superstar for well over a decade. There are options for Trinity, of course, especially since the woman she walked out of WWE with last year is currently the IWGP Women's Champion. There are certainly some good matches waiting for her in ROH if that's where she goes, and ROH would get a real boost from signing a recognizable name.
