Responding to a question from Stephen King, showrunner Jeff Rake reveals that Manifest season 4 is aiming for a November release date on Netflix.
Manifest season 4 is aiming for a November 2022 release date. A supernatural drama, centering around the mysterious reappearance of the passengers and crew of a commercial airliner, Manifest has remained the focus of numerous headlines since it was canceled by NBC in June 2021 due to low ratings. Fans quickly mobilized to resurrect the series, taking to social media to express their desire to see the show. In the end, thanks partially to the drama’s strong performance on Netflix, a deal was announced in August for the streaming service to revive continue the story in the form of a fourth and final season.
In order to say farewell to the series, many of the cast will be returning to reprise their roles. That includes Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, J.R. Ramirez, Parveen Kaur, Luna Blaise, and Holly Taylor. And initially, although there were questions as to whether Matt Long would be back to portray Zeke Landon, it was later confirmed that he had joined the cast of Manifest season 4. But so far, while the on-screen talent has assembled, and some plot details have been teased, viewers have had questions about when the last episodes would arrive.
Horror icon and Manifest devotee Stephen King is one of the many fans curious to know more about the supernatural hit. In a Twitter exchange that highlights off King’s playful awareness of the series’ tropes, the legendary author asked creator and showrunner Jeff Rake a few questions: How many times will a character say “trust me?” or “it’s complicated?” He also asked when Manifest season 4 would arrive. To the latter query, Rake noted that the aim is for a November 2022 premiere date. Check out the funny exchange below.
As previously reported, Manifest season 4 will consist of 20 episodes. But unlike Netflix’s usual strategy, the episodes will not drop all at once. Instead, it will be split into parts. While it remains to be seen whether Manifest is split into two halves or multiples, the streamer is taking the same approach with Stranger Things season 4. The megahit, created by the Duffer Brothers, will debut in two parts. The first will arrive on May 27, with the second planned for July 1. This could be a sign that, as other streaming services are moving away from the binging model, Netflix is recognizing that it’s better off extending the life of its most popular titles.
In any case, Manifest season 4 will have a lot of questions to answer. Some of the most pressing mysteries are related to where the all-important callings stem from and what actually happened to the passengers on the flight and more specific questions like the importance of Zeke’s powers. After rallying around a low-rated network drama and turning it into a streaming favorite, fans will only have to wait a little longer to see how it all unfolds.
