Machine Gun Kelly Will Be A Playable Character In WWE 2K22

WWE 2K22's release date is now less than two weeks away. A game that will ultimately determine the future of all WWE games moving forward. 2K has taken a two-year break following the failure that was WWE 2K20 and if 2K22 isn't a vast improvement in almost every way, there's no telling what the next step, and a few steps beyond that, will be for WWE's video game division.
Machine Gun Kelly Is On The Roster
2K continues to reveal more and more about its upcoming game, including the music that will be playing in-game as you get to know MyGM and Rey Mysterio's Showcase. Machine Gun Kelly has curated the playlist as its executive producer. The 12-track playlist includes Typhoons by Royal Blood, and of course, a couple of tracks by Kelly himself.

2K has also revealed Kelly will be a playable character in WWE 2K22. The rapper won't be available on launch day, though. Kelly will be added as part of the game's future DLC, so exactly what he will look like in-game hasn't been revealed. When exactly the DLC will become available and if you will have to pay extra for it also hasn't been revealed.
Following In The Footsteps Of Fred Durst
Kelly has a long relationship with WWE, even making appearances on-screen. Kelly once clashed with Kevin Owens which resulted in the singer being powerbombed off the stage. Surprisingly, that didn't lead to Kelly having a match, though he has performed live music at WWE events multiple times. Perhaps other celebrities who actually have wrestled, like Bad Bunny, will also be added to the roster.
This isn't the first time a celebrity has been added to a WWE game as a playable character. Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst could be used to wrestle matches in SmackDown 2 on the PS1. Again, despite Durst not wrestling a match. Limp Bizkit had a strong connection with WWE back then. Rollin' was The Undertaker's entrance music, and My Way was used to hype The Rock and Stone Cold's WrestleMania 17 main event.
