John Cena’s rapping gimmick helped him become over enough to start the push into a top role. WWE has always had something special in Cena, from his memorable debut answering Kurt Angle’s challenge. However, many fans forget that Cena struggled with the generic face character until introducing the rapping heel. The change saved his career and eventually made the fans love him.

Cena delivered many noteworthy one-liners in the freestyle rap promos he cut before his matches. Regardless of whether he played a face or heel, Cena usually ran down his opponents and made references to local sports teams. But what is Cena's most savage line ever?
10 "Walk with Elias? I'm not really feeling it. Because without the guitar, what it means is wasted wrestling experiment."
WrestleMania 35 marked the one-night-only return of John Cena as the Doctor of Thuganomics. Fans reacted with joy when Cena’s old theme music played to interrupt Elias’ musical performance on the biggest show of the year.

Cena delivered a few ruthless lines in his rap as a throwback to the old character fans loved. The line featured here showed Cena calling out Elias for not having much to offer in the wrestling ring without his guitar. Cena not having a match at WM was forgiven when he started rapping like old times.
9 "Me fighting the F.B.I.? There's no way I can do this. Now to get to the Royal Rumble, I have to beat the 3 Stooges."
The Full Blooded Italians were a heel group on SmackDown with Nunzio, Johnny the Bull, and Chuck Palumbo. John Cena was getting ready to face them in a tag team when reciting his latest freestyle rap on the ramp.
The faction was viewed as a lower card group, and Cena made sure to have some fun at their expense by calling them the Three Stooges. At this point, Cena was starting to get over as a face after his heel run entertained the audience enough to cause the change.
8 "Brock Lesnar, here comes the pain. God made me strong, forgot to give me brain."
John Cena and Brock Lesnar had some intense matches in the 2010s, but their first big match came back in 2003. Lesnar defended the WWE Championship against Cena at Backlash 2003 shortly into his title reign after defeating Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19.
Cena delivered promos every week leading up to the match with the ruthless raps. He mocked Lesnar's intelligence since it was an obvious joke that many of Lesnar’s opponents leaned on. Cena got some positive cheers despite being the heel for this promo.
7 "The ref was my downfall. He was missing calls like Bill Buckner misses ground balls."
The big match between Brock Lesnar and John Cena saw Lesnar retaining the WWE Championship in an exciting outing. To keep his heel heat, Cena claimed he was robbed by poor officiating in the weeks following the match.
One episode of SmackDown in Boston saw Cena getting extra savage when making fun of one of the most heartbreaking moments in Red Sox history. The funny twist was that Cena was a Red Sox fan since he grew up in Boston, but he had to take the shot at them as a heel.

Kurt Angle was one of John Cena's better rivals during the freestyle raps since Angle always excelled at the entertainment side of wrestling. The two engaged in a rap battle that Angle did well in, but Cena still had a few hits.
SmackDown’s limitations saw Cena having to skirt around actually cursing, so he got creative with it. Cena made fun of Angle’s intelligence and referenced his action of flipping off the Olympic gold medalist instead of his two-finger pose.

John Cena brought back his freestyle raps for the first time in years during his 2012 feud with The Rock. Various promos from Rock were quite personal and ripped apart the credibility of Cena as WWE’s top superstar.

Cena’s retort came in the form of a rap when running down Rock’s movie career. Fans trolled Rock in Boston with “Tooth Fairy” chants, much to his surprise. Cena called it out the following week in his rap since it showed of the fans were starting to turn on Rock.
4 "You can throw away that patriotic masked man. Don't recycle Hulkamania. Throw it in the trash can."
Hulk Hogan’s run as Mr. America was one of the strangest chapters of his WWE career. Vince McMahon fired Hogan, but he returned to SmackDown under the red, white and blue mask now known as Mr. America with everyone in on the joke.
John Cena made reference to it after Hogan was legitimately fired and WWE ended the angle. The savage line featured him stating that Hulkamania belongs in a trash can. But WWE unfortunately never what would have been a dream match given how Cena’s career turned out.
3 "You hop around all day like there's potatoes in your crack. That's a nice tattoo of your mother on your back."
Brock Lesnar received some of John Cena’s best rap lines when the two feuded in 2002. Cena realized this was the biggest opportunity of his career and showed that by stepping up his rapping in both his promos and the ring.
The savage insult in question saw Cena making fun of the giant tattoo on Brock’s back by comparing it to his mother. Needless to say, lines this savage added to the appeal of the feud as many fans were excited to see Lesnar tear Cena apart.

The rap battle between Kurt Angle and John Cena allowed both men to step up to the occasion. Angle’s rap was funnier, but Cena certainly brought the entertainment with these pop culture references of the early 2000s.
Cena found Hollywood inspiration, comparing himself to the legendary Terminator franchise. Angle was compared to the hit movie Legally Blonde, which was generally disliked by the wrestling fan demographic at the time.

Big Show served as the perfect heel to battle rap John Cena on SmackDown. The wild start saw Big Show actually doing a great job with his rap and getting some cheers from the crowd. However, that momentum ended once Cena started his freestyle.
Big Show's size was mocked when Cena made of him sweating despite the two not even wrestling. A camera shot of Big Show legitimately sweating was the perfect follow-up to the line, proving it true and thus, even more savage.
