GTA Online: How to Get an Aircraft Carrier

Who doesn’t want to hang out on an aircraft carrier? Grand Theft Auto Online is home to a plethora of vehicles and weaponry to play with. The game is also home to several exploitable glitches that can break or enhance the gameplay experience.

The USS Luxington makes a few appearances in various missions. While players are not able to own the aircraft carrier under normal means, the vehicle can be spawned into the game world via a handy glitch. Here’s how to get the aircraft carrier in Grand Theft Auto Online.

The Aircraft Carrier in GTA Online

The USS Luxington (ATT-16) is a fully explorable military vessel available to players in Grand Theft Auto Online. It is the second such vehicle to appear in the series. The ship has three levels, fully designed decks, props, and usable aircraft. When available, the ship typically spawns near the Southeast corner of Los Santos about a mile offshore.

The aircraft carrier isn’t always available offshore. Currently, it only appears in two missions available to players. It can be accessed via the Humane Raid setup and in Adversary Mode within the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony update. The ship is featured briefly in Humane Raid but is fully explorable in Adversary Mode.

Spawning the Aircraft Carrier in GTA Online

There are two different methods of getting the aircraft carrier to spawn into a free mode session. Regardless of which mode is chose, the player will need to bring a friend along for the ride. Start both methods by beginning the Humane Raid setup mission.

The first method involves playing through the mission in its entirety. This mission can’t be completed solo. After the mission has been completed, players will be given the option to select another mission or restart the one they completed. Select “replay”, select mission parameters, and begin the mission again. Wait for the mission to load the betting menu. From there, players must quit the mission and return to free-roam. If the glitch has worked properly, the aircraft carrier will remain offshore for the host and any players in their session to travel to and explore.

The second method takes a bit less time but is also less reliable. Players will need to begin the mission just like the first method. There will be a point during the mission when they reach the carrier for the first time. From there, open the menu and change the spawn location to “Last Location”, and then change a character accessory. This should result in an orange loading screen. If the screen isn’t present, the player must try this again. If this happened, the player can then quit the mission and return to free-roam. The carrier should still be in the ocean.
