AEW Star Jon Huber (Brodie Lee) Passes Away At Age Of 41

In what's another sad story added to an incredibly terrible year, wrestler Jonathan Huber - better known by his stage name Brodie Lee in AEW or Luke Harper in WWE - has died. Huber was 41-years-old and his family, friends and colleagues were devastated to learn of the news and share the information one day after Christmas.
AEW released a statement on Saturday and said, "The All Elite Wrestling family is heartbroken." They add, "In an industry filled with good people, Jon Huber was exceptionally respected and beloved in every way -- a fierce and captivating talent, a thoughtful mentor and simply very king soul that starkly contradicted his persona as Mr. Brodie Lee."
Huber's wife took to Instagram to say that the professional wrestling star passed away due to a non-Covid related lung issue. She wrote that he passed surrounded by family and loved ones.
Huber spent years in WWE as Luke Harper and as part of the Wyatt Family. He was always touted as a star that had a lot more to offer than the company was giving him opportunity to show. He was released from his contract and took his talents to AEW and became the leader of the Dark Order faction. He won the TNT Championship early into his tenure and the belief was that he could be a major contributor to their overall product.
The announcement of his death comes as a shock to many. Some reports suggested he fell ill a few weeks ago, but few knew the extent of his illness, other than that the matter was fairly serious. Until today, reports about how bad things were remained relatively private.
Huber Will Be Missed
This is just sad and another example of how crummy a year 2020 has turned out to be for so many people. The wrestling industry is flooding social media in the wake of the news with stories and well wishes to his friends and family.
